Because we know the sheer power of blogging – and the power of leveraging a community – we created this blog challenge to help authors promote themselves and each other.
We started Marcie Brock – Book Marketing Maven on May 2, 2011 with a goal of helping self-publishing authors learn to think like marketers so they can go out and PROMOTE THEIR BOOKS. Lots of our tips and posts are about low- to no-cost marketing methods that can help you increase your exposure while you build your brand and credibility. Participating in the 4th Annual Author Blog Challenge will aid you in that process.
This challenge is 21 days – and our hope is that you will post all 21 days. That’s why it’s the NO EXCUSES 3-Week Author Blog Challenge. However, posting every days is not a requirement for participation. You will post on YOUR blog. We will offer a daily writing prompt (all of them about some aspect of writing, publishing, and/or book marketing), and you can use our prompt or write on the subject of your choosing. The main point is that it is to your advantage to post as often as possible for a number of reasons:
- The more you post, the more visibility you – and your book – will get.
- The more you post, the better your own blog will do in the search engines.
- For each day you post, you will be entered in a contest to win a digital gift of some sort, provided by the blog hosts and other participants.
While traditionally and self-published authors are encouraged to participate, you need not be published to take part. However, we do prefer that you are writing something resembling a book, workbook, eBook, or audiobook, or working toward the goal of publishing said opus. If you’ve been thinking about writing a book and need some encouragement, you’re invited, too. Jump in – the water is fine.
