Author Blog Challenge – Writing Prompt #7

The participants are still joining! If you’re out there reading this blog, it’s still not too late to become a participant. It’s OK, though, if you just want to hang out for a while and see what others are up to. One of these days, you’ll be ready to jump in and (a) author your own book or (b) share that experience with others sitting where you are right now.

Check out our Day 4 Recap if you’d like to see excerpts from a few of yesterday’s very interesting posts.

ON TO THE FUN STUFF…

The WINNER for yesterday’s giveaway is Judith Cassis. Congrats! You’ve won a copy of the eBook, The Little Mongrel – Free to a Good Home!, donated by Merlene Fawdry. This is the true story of Merlene, relinquished at birth to become the fourth child adopted into a family already in a crisis of dysfunction. She lives with her family in an affluent suburb, where the secrets of the family are hidden behind a veneer of respectability and within the attic bedroom she shares with a growing family of adopted and fostered siblings, a colony of bush rats, and the eerie spectres of her troubled mind.

The GIVEAWAY for today is the eBook, Feast of the Antlion, by Caro Ayre. Action, romance, and intrigue in Kenya. Widow Sandra Harriman fights to protect a wildlife sanctuary from poachers, armed gangs, and business rivals. An antlion is an insect that creates mini volcano like craters of finely sifted sand into which ants fall and are unable to escape. Sandra feels like an ant in one of these traps as she fights to protect the Wildlife Conservation Scheme left in her care for her two step-children. Nothing has equipped her for the role of widow, step-mother and estate manager. She faces a struggle to deal with armed gangs, poachers and a murderer on the ranch. But hardest of all is unravelling her dead husband’s secrets to find out who she can trust.
